I finally got to go see Spiderman 3 at the IMAX at the Colossus Theater in Langley. I came into the theater with really high expectations. I have been waiting for this movie for over a year. Just thinking about Venom on the big screen made me want to giggle profusely… not to mention climb on random objects. However, because of the hype, I came out of the theater a little disappointed. Despite how well it was done, I sorta felt like it could have been more. I think the biggest problem with the movie was that there were too many villains. This was a problem that plagued X-Men 3. The more characters you have the more you need to split the screen time. The focus of the movie should have been the internal struggle between Spiderman and Venom. However, all the sub-plots just got in the way of portraying this well. Despite these issues, I still think the movie was amazing. No doubt it will be the best movie of the summer. The visuals and action scenes were absolutely amazing. Also, the plot line was really good. Some of the sub-plots were not needed, but other than that it was really good. In conclusion… You Have To See This MOVIE! If possible, you should spend the extra bucks to see it in the IMAX. It is a worth while investment. My only suggestion is not to get TOO hyped up over the movie. You will enjoy the movie a lot more if you do.

About a month ago I cut off my cocaine habit (formally referred as World of Warcraft). World of Warcraft is a great game… but it seems to devour your time. Although I know people far worse than me, my free time seemed largely consumed with the game. It is bad when a game makes you choose between a “full time job” and a computer game. Anyways, since then, I have been able to accomplish a lot more. One of the things I did with my new free time was create this website. I, also, have been doing a lot reading. However, the stresses of life have finally caught up with me. I, finally, got myself a new computer game: Command and Conquer 3. I wanted to pick up the game for awhile now but I have been, until recently, too busy playing WoW. I have a friend who works at EA and he was able to pick me up a copy for 20 bucks. I couldn’t resist the offer! From what I’ve played so far, the game is awesome. It is very visually stimulating. However, the real test will be how good the AI is. I’m not very good yet, so I can’t pass any judgment on it yet. EA claims that they have put a lot of work on the AI in this game. Regardless, it can’t be as bad as Battle For Middle Earth 2… at least I hope not. Anyways, hopefully I’m not trading one addiction for another.

I put up a bunch of space wallpaper done by Greg Martin. All these images were publicly displayed on his website, so I assume it is alright for me to publish them.
I always like having space artwork as my wallpaper background, but I haven’t found an artist that is in the same league as Greg Martin. If anyone knows any good space artists please leave a link as a comment. Greg Martin also has a few tutorials on how he draws space scenery. The planet and stars you see in the background are all based off his tutorials. I think they turned out pretty well, especially when I have never drawn a planet or a star field before.
